Do you have a point? Do you have a purpose?  No, I’m not referring to the larger spiritual purpose but rather reflecting on your business.  Why did you start your business?  Why do you work for the company you are with?

Too often we get so consumed by day to day minutiae trying to survive we forget our purpose and why we began the business venture we are in whether our business or someone else’s. This is when it is time to step back, reflect, and remember why.  If you are singing the Peggy Lee song “Is that all there is?” then the next question is what are you going to do about it.  Change is hard and we do become complacent.  The saying the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t is often a reference. But then there is the story about the frog, who when placed in a pan of water will stay there, as the heat is gradually increased until it is cooked and dies.

Remember your purpose for your business and your work life and get back to it the difference in how you feel every day will amaze you.
