I recently did a a 3 session series for Maui mastermind on hiring the best. I covered everything from job descriptions to succession planning to creating interview questions to tracking it all. Below I will describe some ways AI could help
- Before creating an ad AI can look at the information it has about your employees to determine, who, internally can fill functions.
- AI can help create job descriptions It can take your data that includes must have, nice to have and don’t want and create the description. If you saw last month’s newsletter you saw the description and ad it created ( If you didn’t see it the blogs are listed on the website) AI took less than 5 minutes I took way longer
- Once you have the job description it can review resumes based on the job description. You have to be careful in this area. Sometimes, people may be eliminated due to gaps or too many job changes. You may want to ask for 3 categories in the review, yes, maybe and no. Remember AI can and does make mistakes and you may need to review the results.
- Depending on the position you want to fill AI can create interview questions and create a score sheet template.
- If you are advanced in AI usage an AI agent can do the telephone screening and some of the pretesting to determine if the candidate has the correct skills . Review the article from Korn Ferry in the introduction to see how AI agents are being used.
- AI can create procedure manuals for positions and employee manuals even adding videos as needed. You would need the paid version of Chatgpt for this and it’s only $20/month
- If you are following good on-boarding practices AI can create a template to track performance
- During the hiring process AI can create the system to send notification to those applicants you will not be hiring and create tracking in case you want to contact them in the future.
- In addition to a calendar of when interviews took place there can be a template that adds comments from the interviews and observations.
- It can systematize and send confirmation letters.
